Bloomberg Chicago Booth restricted, access in the Harper Center and Gleacher Center Labs.: Bloomberg features real time current and historical financial information on individual equities, stock market indices, fixed-income securities, currencies, commodities, and futures for both international and domestic markets. It also has real time news feeds from business and general news services.
Business Monitor Online: Country risk, macroeconomic data and forecasts, company profiles and industry profiles and forecasts covering most countries. Also includes information on joint ventures and investments made by multinational companies.
Business Source Complete: Article database that includes trade publications, academic journals, industry profiles, country information and company profiles, which include SWOT analyses. Full text is often available.

Burton Group: Burton group produces market research on information technology. Registration required for access.

China Data Online: Economic and demographic statistics at the national, provincial, county and city levels.
CMIE-Prowess Chicago Booth restricted: The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, CMIE, has built India's largest and most comprehensive database on firms operating in India. Includes basic company and financial information. Access in the Gleacher Center and Harper Center computing labs.
COMPUSTAT Chicago Booth restricted, accessed via WRDS: COMPUSTAT (from Standard & Poor's) provides more than 300 annual and 100 quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on more than 24,000 publicly held companies.
Conference Board: Business Knowledge Research: The Conference Board produces reports on ethics, corporate governance, leadership, executive compensation and other management topics. These are written from a non-partisan perspective. Particularly notable are their annual reports on CEO and Director compensation and corporate charitable giving.
CRSP (The Center for Research in Security Prices) Chicago Booth restricted, accessed via WRDS: Data on security prices, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stock markets. Additional CRSP files provide stock indices, beta- and cap-based portfolios, treasury bond and risk-free rates, and mutual fund databases.
CountryWatch: Demographic, political and economic data for countries worldwide. Also contains newswires that can be filtered by countries.

Datastream: Access in Regenstein Library, first floor terminal A9, and in Harper Center and Gleacher Labs
Current and historical time series data on stocks, stock indices, bonds, futures, interest rates, commodities, derivatives, exchange rates, and economic data.
Regenstein Library has access through Advance, DSWindows and an Excel add-in that allows searching directly from within Excel.

DealscanChicago Booth restricted, accessed via Loan Connector: Web-based database that holds term sheets for every syndicated loan in the market, including deal terms and conditions on over 50,000 loans, high yield bonds, private placements, and hybrid financing structures originated globally.
Directory of Alternative Investment Programs Chicago Booth restricted: Directory of more than 1,150 limited partners and their advisors and placement agents.

EconLit with Full Text: EconLit indexes articles from economics journals, books, book chapters, dissertations and working papers. It is a very good source for empirical studies on economics and finance.

Elsevier Handbooks in Economics: Each Handbook presents a self-contained survey of the current state of the field in a specific sub-field of economics. These surveys summarize the most recent discussions in journals, and elucidate new developments.

Factiva: Two segments. One is articles from over 8,000 sources including newswires, newspapers, magazines and trade publications, including sources from 118 countries in 22 languages. The second is company and market information, including stock prices, company profiles and financials as well as charting and graphing.

Ibbotson EnCorr Chicago Booth restricted: A portfolio selection tool that integrates historical data analysis, strategic asset allocation, forecasting, style analysis, and portfolio attribution with a wide range of statistical and graphical analyses. There are over 3500 US and international macroeconomic time series.

Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR): ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and includes many large time-series.
Downloading of data is currently restricted to the Chicago Booth, Harris School and Social Science Division.
IMF Balance of Payments Statistics: Detailed statistics on balance of payments and international investments from the International Monetary Fund.
IMF Direction of Trade Statistics: Statistics on trade for most countries with breakdown by partner country. Data are available as far back as 1945
IMF Government Finance Statistics: Contains details on government finances, including income and spending by broad category.
IMF International Financial Statistics: Statistics on all aspects of international and domestic government finance. Includes exchange rates, international liquidity, money and banking, interest rates, production prices, international transactions, and government and national accounts.
Interactive Tariff and Trade DataWeb (United States International Trade Commission): Detailed information on imports, exports and tariffs. Free registration is required for access.
Investext: Full text of analyst reports from major brokerage houses and investment banks. Reports from the last 2-4 weeks are unavailable, depending on the issuer.

JSTOR: Articles from scholarly journals. JSTOR is an archival collection that focuses on the core journals in major disciplines. It does not include articles from the last 2-5 years, depending on the title.

LexisNexis Academic: Articles from newspapers, trade publications, news wires and broadcast transcripts. Business segment includes company profiles and SEC filings.
LexisNexis Statistical: Indexing to statistics published in a wide range of sources. Only some full-text is available directly in the database.
Legal Scholarship Network: Working papers in law and related topics. Many are freely available for download. Also includes information on job openings and upcoming conferences.

Macroeconomic Time Series Data Source Locator: This service provides you with a list of macroeconomic data sources available at the University of Chicago Library categorized by year, geographic location and subject. Types of sources include books, journals, yearbooks, CD-ROMs and Internet resources.
The Making of the Modern World: The Goldsmiths'-Kress Library of Economic LIterature: Electronic book collection from the Goldsmith Library at the University of London and the Kress Collection from Baker Library at Harvard Business School. It comprises almost 60,000 pre-1850 monographs and 466 pre-1906 serials on economics, trade, commerce, social conditions, slavery and more.

Mergent Online: Financial data, equity pricing, debt data and annual reports for publicly traded companies worldwide. Up to 15 years or quarters are available.
Mergent WebReports (Moody's Manuals): Online archive of the Moody's/Mergent Manuals. These include company financial and debt information, officers, subsidiaries and capital structure. Coverage begins in 1909.
Mintel Reports: Market research on consumer markets. Mintel focuses on the U.S. and U.K. but does produce reports on other European and Asian markets from time to time.

NBER Working Papers: Current research papers from the National Bureau of Economic Research. NBER is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization that publishes working papers from over 1000 researchers from colleges and universities around the country.

OneSource Global Business Browser: Company profiles, financial data, corporate structures and executive biographies. Also has industry profiles and reports.

Polling the Nations: Polling the Nations is a compilation of more than 14,000 surveys conducted by over 1000 polling organizations in the United States and 100 other countries from 1986 to the present time.
ProQuest Digital Dissertations and Theses: Indexing and abstracting of dissertations and these written at Universities across North America with some international coverage. The full text of most dissertations written from 1997 to the present is available through the database.
ProQuest Historical Annual Reports: Annual reports for over 900 companies available from 1844 - 1985. The emphasis is on the largest companies and includes most Fortune 500 companies.
ProQuest Newspapers: Full text of over 300 newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, the New York TImes, the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.
PsycINFO via APA PsycNET: Article database covering psychology. Many articles relate to consumer behavior, organizational behavior and decision making.

ReferenceUSA: Directory database that covers the U.S. and Canada. Screen by geography, revenue, employee size and more. Includes corporate linkage showing parent and subsidiary relationships. Our subscription limits downloading to fifteen records at a time.
Regional Economic Accounts: Provides local area economic data for states, counties, and metropolitan areas. Includes State GDP, income, earnings and employment.

Scopus: Index and abstract database that covers over 15,000 journals. Coverage of business and economics is best for 1996 - present. Includes information on cited references and articles that have cited other articles.
SDC Platinum Mergers & Acquisitions: Detailed information on mergers and acquistion activity worldwide. Includes company financial data, advisors and fees and other data.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN): Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences.
SourceOECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development): Online Library of Statistical Databases, Books and Periodicals from the OECD. These cover macroeconomics, trade, education, development and science and innovation.
Standard and Poor's NetAdvantage: Features S & P's Industry Surveys, which provide macro-level analysis of 56 major industries. Also includes company profiles and financial data with analyst rankings of investment potential as well information about company executives.

ThomasNet: Free directory of manufacturers and industrial suppliers. An excellent source for determining who manufactures a particular type of machinery or equipment.
Thomson ONE Banker: Comprehensive database of company financial data. It incorporates Disclosure financials, First Call estimates and recommendations, Datastream price history and SDC Platinum M&A, New Issues and Venture Capital information.

Thomson Research: Company financials and SEC filings. Includes annual reports for U.S. and international companies from 1996 - present.

United Nations Common Database: Statistics compiled by various UN agencies covering a wide range of economic and socio-demographic topics. Includes agriculture, demographics, public health and economic indicators.
USA Trade Online: Database of imports and exports for the United States. Data can be broken down by commodity, trading parner and port of entry/exit.

Value Line Investment Analyzer: Investment analysis tool that provides screening tools for selecting stocks. Includes the full entry from the print edition of Value Line for each company covered.

Web of Science (includes the Social Science Citation Index): Article database that provides links to other articles cited by an article. It also allows searching for articles that have cited an article or other source.
Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) Chicago Booth restricted: WRDS is a web-based common interface to a collection of financial databases, including CRSP and COMPUSTAT.
World Development Indicators Online: Statistics compiled by the World Bank. Includes over 900 indicators covering demographics, environment, economics, public health and more.

Chicago Booth Faculty and Ph.D. students may sign-up for an account through the Account Registration link on the WRDS web page. Use your Chicago Booth email address during sign-up, or we will not be able to pass your account information on to you. MBA students will receive access only through a generic account updated each quarter. The logon account will be sent to registered student a week before the start of the quarter.
