* ValueLine Investment Survey: a handy little CD-ROM that forecasts stock price performance relative to other stocks and provides interpretive analysis of about 1,700 individual stocks and over 90 industries.
Gives safety ranking, beta and short analysis. The weekly print version is available at the Reserve desk, but not every company is updated every ;week. Check the CD, located on A-level.

Analyst Reports:

Investext Plus: company and industry reports put out by the largest investment banks. Over 11,000 U.S. companies and 1000 large non-US companies in more than 50 industries from 1982. The file is updated daily. You can search by company or ticker symbol, or by preordained industries. Files go back to 1996.

OneSource Global Business Browser: GSB restricted Company research reports under "topic search". Information comes from Investext (see above) but is about 2-4 monthes behind datewise. However, OneSource gives additional company information, 10-Ks, annual reports, financials.


Searching for Books in Regenstein:
Want something really broad? Do a subject alphabetical browse in our library catalog for "investments". If looking for a particular place or country, try "investments--name of country" "Investments, foreign" also works well.

Insider Shareholdings:
Finding who owns how much stock in a company. Shares held by principle investors, like investment banks and executives and board members are easiest to find.

Thomson Research
: Look up a company, click on ownership and subsidiaries. What you get: institutional ownership, percentage of ownership, how many and when the shares were bought by the latest quarter, and what has been sold.
