Greetings!

After a long and difficult winter, spring has finally come to Hyde Park. This means daffodils in front of the Lab School, the campus falcons descending on pigeons, and wobbly Frisbees on the quad.

My name is David Pavelich and I'm the Librarian for the Class of 2010. You can stop and see me in the Special Collections Research Center in Regenstein Library (that's where we keep rare books and manuscripts).

I can help you understand the collections and services available at the Library. For instance, I can introduce you to online resources that may be helpful for your assignments, suggest effective search techniques, and provide guidance on citing sources within your research.

Use the form under my photo to drop me an email for help with assignments or questions about the Library. I'll be happy to help. (I'm also happy to meet with you in person.)

The essentials: How do I...? - Research Starting Points - Using RefWorks

Featured Library Resource: Lens
Check out this new search tool! Lens is a "faceted browser," the same sort of search used by big retailers like Amazon. Lens expands your search into many Library resources including books, electronic database information, e-journals list, archives and manuscripts finding aids, tables of contents, summaries, and the Library's website.

Featured Library Resource: Chicago Manual of Style
What other school has their own citation style? Harvard Manual of Style? Stanford Manual of Style? Heck no! Learn proper citations and paper formatting and earn your professors' undying admiration.
