[FLOOR PLAN] Click here for full size floor plan

Current periodicals are located on the east side of the first floor, shelved alphabetically by title in two separate sequences: biomedical journals are in a section labeled Biomedical Unbound Journals (bound volumes on the second floor), followed by physical and general science journals in a section labeled Physical Science Unbound Journals (bound volumes on the third floor).

The reference collection, comprising some 15,000 volumes, is housed on the west side of the first floor, on shelves and index tables. Also located in this area are terminals used to access: the University Library online catalog; science index/article databases available on the University network; CD-ROM sources in the sciences and available for use only in Crerar Library; and, a complete listing (Sources A - Z) of all the electronic resources subscribed to by the UC Library. Science Reference Tools and Resources in electronic form are also available on the network.

The reserve collection includes reserve materials for all sciences courses except mathematics, computer science and statistics, as well as a permanent reserve collection of current medical textbooks and very heavily used science periodicals. It is located in the Circulation Department.

A large collection of microforms (both microfilm and microfiche) is located along the west wall of the Lower Level. A reader/printer for both film and fiche formats is available on the First Floor.

Located on the first floor are the Reference Department, the Circulation Department, Crerar Search Services, and the Science Libraries Administrative Office.
