Collections
- Current periodicals are located on the east side of the first
floor, shelved alphabetically by title in two separate sequences:
biomedical journals are in a section labeled Biomedical Unbound
Journals (bound volumes on the second
floor), followed by physical and general science journals in a
section labeled Physical Science Unbound Journals (bound volumes on
the third floor).
The reference collection, comprising some 15,000 volumes, is housed
on the west side of the first floor, on shelves and index tables.
Also located in this area are terminals used to access: the
University Library online
catalog; science index/article
databases available on the University network; CD-ROM sources in the sciences and
available for use only in Crerar Library; and, a complete listing (Sources A - Z) of all the electronic
resources subscribed to by the UC Library. Science Reference Tools and
Resources in electronic form are also available on the
network.
The reserve collection includes reserve materials for all sciences
courses except mathematics, computer science and statistics, as
well as a permanent reserve collection of current medical textbooks
and very heavily used science periodicals. It is located in the
Circulation Department.
A large collection of microforms (both microfilm and microfiche) is
located along the west wall of the Lower Level. A reader/printer
for both film and fiche formats is available on the First
Floor.

Science Libraries Administrative
