Collections
- The lower level houses, on compact shelving, materials from the
original Crerar collection that remain in Dewey Decimal
classification, including copies of historical standards. Volumes in the
"Crerar Dewey" collection having call numbers beginning with M or T
are also located on the lower level in the compact shelving.
Journals in East Asian languages, on all science subjects, are also
shelved separately in the compact shelving. The entire Crerar
collection, covering all areas of science and medicine, is now
listed in the online catalog.
Departments
- Located on the lower level is the USITE/Crerar
computer cluster (managed by NSIT) and the CyberCafe (both
accessible only from the front entrance area to the Library.) On
the lower level within the Library are training rooms used by
University Human Resources and the University Library, a conference
room, and the area housing the Photoduplication operations.
