Four Treasures)

Description:
This CDROM database is an electronic version
of the renowned
Siku
Quanshu,
a comprehensive selection and
compilation of Chinese scholarly books
available in 18th
centenary (the early Qing period). The set contains
more than
3,400 titles of Chinese books in almost all scholarly subjects
at the time. In addition to the full text for the set, the database
provides
powerful search capability to the text. Caution needs
to be exercised,
however, that the Qing compilation involved
censorship, and the edition
selected in the set was not always
the best edition.
Si Bu Cong Kan
Description: Full text searchable database--
an electronic version of the renowned Chinese series Sibu congkan containing 504 historical Chinese works, which were carefully
selected by scholars and published by the Commercial Press in
1919-1936. These works represent some of the best achievements made by
the pre-modern Chinese scholarship on various subjects.
