Mission Statement

The Joseph Regenstein Library's mission for teaching and learning is to promote the development and use of information literacy skills--to locate, identify, use, and interpret information effectively--in the University community and to promote the role of the Library as a resource for lifelong learning.

The Joseph Regenstein Library promotes information literacy and lifelong learning in the following ways:

By helping students, faculty, and staff at the University become familiar with the Library and its resources.

By developing library teaching and learning resources for students, faculty, and staff in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

By encouraging a partnership between the Library and instructors in curriculum development to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

By promoting the use of critical thinking skills that can be applied in the academic environment and in the larger world.
