Employment Process
The University of Chicago Library Personnel Office posts all available Library positions on the job opportunities page and on the University's employment website. The positions remain posted until they are filled.
Staff positions may be applied for by logging on to the university's employment website http://jobs.uchicago.edu. Resumes sent via fax, mail or email will not be considered. On the website, you must create a profile and then you will be able to apply for the positions you are interested in. Qualified applicants are then called in for interviews based upon the department's criteria and the applicant's experience level. If you would like assistance applying for a Library position, please contact the Library Personnel Office.

Librarian (Academic non-faculty) positions may be applied for by sending an application package to the email address listed in the posting. Application package should include a cover letter, resume and contact information for references. Application packages may also be sent by mail to the address listed above.
Student positions may be applied for by filling out a student application online. These positions are available only to University of Chicago students. Please fill out the application completely and accurately. Once the application is filled out and submitted, it is available online for supervisors to review. If your qualifications meet the department's criteria, you will be called in for an interview, and at that time, you'll be asked to supply a copy of your resume. Applications may be updated at any time by sending e-mail to Library Personnel if you have not received a job and you are still interested in employment at the Library. University Job Postings are accessible through the Internet at UChicago Jobs. This website provides a complete listing of all jobs posted by the University of Chicago including qualifications and responsibilities. The UChicago Jobs online employment site is the central intake point for all open staff (non-academic) positions. Only job seekers who create a profile and submit a resume online will be considered for employment. You can view job postings and apply on any computer with Internet access. Computer workstations are available at the University of Chicago Employment Services Office.
