Institutional Repository Manager

The Institutional Repository Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for the development of the University of Chicago’s Institutional Repository and associated services.  The IR Manager works with stakeholders to identify use cases and define requirements for the IR, and manages the development of new functionalities and services that meet their needs.  The IR Manager provides an outreach and advocacy role by raising awareness of IR services across campus, creating opportunities for collaboration, and developing training programs. 

The University of Chicago Institutional Repository is a collaboration among the Library, the Research Computing Center, and the University’s IT Services Division, and is envisioned as a cross-divisional set of flexible, coordinated services and infrastructure.  It will preserve and share the intellectual assets of the University of Chicago by supporting researchers, instructors, and administrative staff with a professionally-managed digital environment in which to curate, preserve, and disseminate their materials including research data, teaching resources, and administrative records. The IR Manager will play a key role in realizing this vision, including setting and implementing both short and long-term goals for the development of the IR.

Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Digital Services, the IR Manager will work closely with the Director of the Library’s Digital Library Development Center, and staff from IT Services and the Research Computing Center to develop an Institutional Repository that serves the University’s mission.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Appointment salary based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include retirement plan, insurance, and paid time off. There is a tuition benefit plan for college age and younger children.
