The entrance to the stacks is in the west half of the building on the A-Level and on floors 2-5. The B-Level is entirely bookstacks. Floorplans and call number guides for material located in the Regenstein bookstacks are posted on each floor to assist you.

The majority of the Library's current periodicals are shelved in the Periodicals Reading Room, located on the east side of the second floor. Current periodicals for Middle Eastern Studies, East Asian Studies, and South Asian Studies are located with their corresponding reference collections on the fifth floor.
Other Collections
The Special Collections Research Center, located on the first floor in the southwest corner, provides access to various collections. Also on the first floor, behind the circulation counter under the "Check It Out" sign, are Course Reserves for the Divinity School, the Business School, and for undergraduate and graduate courses in the humanities and social sciences.
Most humanities and social sciences dissertations are shelved in the A-Level Reading Room.
The Regenstein Closed Stack Collection is an on-site, pageable collection that provides an interim solution to Regenstein's space constraints. You may request items in the Closed Stack at the Circulation desk on the first floor.
Several other collections can be found in the Third-Floor Reading Room. The Library's Map Collection is located in the northwest corner. Along the east side of the floor is the Microform Collection, as well as videos. Browse the videotape and DVD cases, and then take the containers to the circulation desk on the first floor for check-out. The Recordings Collection, containing music and spoken word recordings, can be accessed at the window near the service desk entrance. The Chicago Jazz Archive is also located on this floor and is accessible by appointment. Self-service audio and video equipment for the use of these collections can be found near the center of the Reading Room.
