Scope Note

Labeled drawings of hundreds of plants, labeled in Latin. Many of the entries are accompanied by more detailed drawings of their leaves, seeds, roots and pods. Some of the series of drawings depict the same species in different phases of its development. In the corner of each page, there is a different crest or insignia with Latin words below. The first illustrated pages of the volume is a full-page portrait labeled “Robert Morison MD, 1620-1683.”
