Scope Note

A bound collection of thirteen photographs of the Goodwin dump railroad car in various stages of operation, including with and without human operators. In one shot, the car is dumping 50,000 pounds of cinder. In another, laborers are loading pig iron into it via a large chute. The car is also depicted from different angles and juxtaposed with those manufactured by the Illinois Steel Company to provide a scale comparison.
