Scope Note

Mimeographed Literature of Army Sanitary School compiled by Bailey K. Ashford, in two volumes. It contains copies of confidential World War I lectures, reports, plans, etc. associated with the Army Sanitary School in Langres, France, of which Ashford was the director. A total of 183 articles are indexed numerically and thematically, some of which were originally in French but here reproduced in translation. Some articles are accompanied by graphs, figures, or maps. To these numbered articles are appended, in the second volume, the programs of ten sessions of the Army Sanitary School, the first running from December 3, 1917 to January 5, 1918, and the tenth from November 21, 1918 to December 6, 1918. The final section of the second volume consists of “map problems” assigned during Army Sanitary School sessions, the maps associated with the problems, and their solutions.
