Henry Max Goettsch was an early student at the University of Chicago. He received his SB from the University of Iowa in 1899, and his S.M. in 1901. Goettsch entered the University of Chicago in 1901. He received his Ph.D on June 12, 1906 with a thesis titled "The absorption coefficients of uranium compounds."
The Henry Max Goettsch Papers consist of one letter from Goettsch to Dr, C.L. Von Ende, dated July 4, 1901. The letter contains Goettsch's impressions of "the standard oil school," the University of Chicago. He writes of the faculty he has encountered, his thoughts on President Harper and Rockefeller, and his predictions for the future of the University.
