The Graduate Library School was established in 1926 with support from a grant from the Carnegie Corporation. It was the first library school in America to offer a doctorate in library science work.
The Graduate Library School Records are divided ino two series. Series I includes materials pertaining to faculty at the school, including meeting minutes and faculty files. Series II consists of general administration files, primarily correspondence and publications.
