CODEX MANUSCRIPT SHORT TITLE CATALOG
The Codex Manuscript Short Title Catalog is a finding aid containing brief entries describing manuscript items in the holdings of the Special Collections Research Center that are identified by Codex Manuscript Number (i.e., Ms. 100, Ms. 965). Manuscripts of this type include bound manuscripts as well as small groups of manuscripts housed in boxes, portfolios, binders, and other individual containers. The manuscript material described in this finding aid dates from the medieval period to the present.
Each Codex Manuscript item can be located by a general keyword search. Manuscripts can also be identifed by browsing listings arranged by the Codex Manuscipt Number (Ms.), Main Entry, Title, Date, and Language. For purposes of this database, musical manuscripts have been identified by language as "Music."
Special Collections is in the process of cataloging all of its Codex Manuscript holdings. Records created to date can be located in the Library's catalog, where they can be retrieved using the number format Ms121, Ms30, Ms184, etc.
Additional information about manuscript holdings of the modern period and related material in the University Archives can be located using the Subject Guide to Modern Manuscript and Archival Collections and the Alphabetical List of Modern Manuscript and Archival Collecitons.
