Library Privileges for faculty and academic employees should be automatically created within two days of when your Chicago Card is issued. Faculty and Academics who are unsure of their official status or designation should contact their departmental administrator.
- Faculty Appointments
- Tenured, Tenure-Track, and non-Tenure Track (except Visiting Faculty):
- receive indefinite borrowing privileges
- are eligible for proxy borrowers
- Retired and Emeritus:
- receive the same privileges as when they were active faculty
- Tenured, Tenure-Track, and non-Tenure Track (except Visiting Faculty):
- Academic and Other Appointments
- Research Associates (with rank), Senior Research Associates, Research
Scientists, Senior Scientists, Librarians, Senior Lecturers, Adjunct
and Clinical Faculty:
- receive indefinite borrowing privileges
- are eligible for proxy borrowers
- Lecturers, Fellows, Research Associates, Departmental Associates,
and Visiting Faculty or Visiting Scholars:
- receive quarterly borrowing privileges
- Research Associates (with rank), Senior Research Associates, Research
Scientists, Senior Scientists, Librarians, Senior Lecturers, Adjunct
and Clinical Faculty:
