Microforms (both microfilm and microfiche) are located on the Lower Level.

The reader/printer for both film and fiche is available on the first floor near the computers. If you have trouble using the machine, ask for help at the Reference or Circulation desk.

What if the microform is not in the drawer or on the shelf?

If you've looked for a microform and can't find it

  1. There are re-shelving boxes on top of the microform drawers. Check if it needs to be re-filed.
  2. Check at the Reference Desk to be certain of your information.
  3. Fill out a Search Request. (We'll do the looking from this point on.) Searches take between 1-5 working days.

What is the difference between microfilm and microfiche?

Microfilm is in the shape of a roll of film. Microfiche is in the shape of a 3" x 5" card. The reader can handle both formats.
