Finding Aid for
The Franz Jackson Collection

by Lucie Obrecht
I.U.T. Métiers Du Livre
July 2000

The Franz Jackson Collection at the Chicago Jazz Archive contains a wealth of material documenting his illustrious career. The collection contains many types of materials, including photos, correspondence, clippings, recordings, and oral history.

The finding aid for this collection was done by Lucie Obrecht, a library school intern from the I.U.T. Métiers Du Livre in Saint-Cloud (France), working under the supervision of Chicago Jazz Archive Curator Deborah L. Gillaspie.

The Franz Jackson Collection is divided into several series, as follows:

Series I: Biographical Materials

Series II: Photographs

Series III: Performances

Series IV: Recordings

Series V: Other Artists

Because this is a collection donated by a living artist, we expect that there will be additions and and re-structuring of the finding aid from time to time as new materials come in. Please remember to hit your "reload" button occasionally to be sure you are getting the latest version of the finding aid.
