The University of Chicago Library
Chicago Jazz Archive | Ask the Chicago Jazz Archive Curator

The Chicago Jazz Archive at the Special Collections Research Center of the University of Chicago Library supports the jazz research needs of University of Chicago students, faculty, and staff, the members of the Jazz Institute of Chicago (JIC), and individuals outside the University of Chicago community whose jazz questions cannot be answered at local public and state university libraries.

When filling out the "Response needed by" section, please be aware that the Chicago Jazz Archive is a repository of rare materials. Responses to queries submitted in writing are provided as staff resources and time permit; they usually are answered in three to four weeks. Priority for this service is given to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Chicago, whose questions are usually answered in a week or less.

This service is monitored during business hours Tuesday-Friday. Please consult our How do I...? guide before submitting a question, and be as specific as you can about what you seek and where you have already looked.
