Directory (EROD)
From the U.S. Dept. of Education. Nearly 4,000 organizations and agencies are listed in this directory which is updated at least annually. To be included, orgniazations must offer information and assistance on education-related topics. Many types of organizations are listed including State Higher Education Agencies and State Education Agencies for preK-12 programs and offices such as literacy resource centers, child care licensing offices, education for special populations (such as offenders and homeless), and arts and humanities councils.

- Academic Info bills itself as "your gateway to quality educational resources" and is maintained by Mike Madin. It includes annotated links to resources in academic subject areas as well as a Student Center that includes links to directories of institutions, financial aid information, college sports, student travel and more.
- ACT Inc.--publishers of the American College Test (ACT), the company's website offers resources for college planning and test preparation, plus information about its products for workforce development and assessment of institutional effectiveness.
- College Board--administers the SAT and provides resources for college planning. Offers full-text reports, statistics and other documents for education professionals and researchers (such as College-Bound Seniors, Enrollment Mangement Review, etc).
- College Source Online--from the Career Guidance Foundation, this resource provides the full-text of more than 8,300 college catalogs for 2-year, 4-year, graduate, and professional schools. You can search the database by tuition, location, size of enrollment, affiliation, general programs of study, and other criteria. The catalogs are available in Adobe's PDF format, and the site has a link to download this software. (Access restricted).

- National Academic Advising Association (NACADA)--the website of this professional association offers directories of resources for both research and practice. NACADA's Technology in Advising Commission has an additional list of Academic Advising Resources on the Internet
- Pathways to College Network and Clearinghouse--this organization's mission is "to focus research-based knowledge and resources on improving college preparation, access, and success for under-served populations, including low-income, underrepresented minority, and first-generation students."
