• Educators Reference Desk (Freely available)
  When the ERIC Clearinghouses were closed in December, 2003, the Information Institute of Syracuse archived the AskERIC resources and, through volunteer efforts, continues to add content to the Educators Reference Desk. Content includes Resource Guides to a multitude of topics, an archive of questions previously answered by AskERIC, more than 2000 lesson plans, and an interface to search a free version of the ERIC database.

  This is a growing collection of searchable electronic texts in the field of cognitive and brain sciences. The website that was first designed to accompany the MIT Encyclopedia of the Cognitive Sciences (BF311.M556 1999; copies in Regenstein 4th Floor Reference Collection, Crerar Reference and Regenstein Bookstacks). The CogNet library now contains more than 400 books and over 30 journal titles are available full-text, as well as links to resources from other publishers, professional associations, institutions, and individuals. Cognet has other features as well, ranging from news, conference announcements, and awards to the ability to initiate or participate in seminars, discussions and commentaries.

  Created and maintained by the Department of Psychology, Jacksonville State University, this is a searchable, hierarchical directory of annotated links to web content in the following categories: Career; Environment Behavior Relationships; Organizations and Institutions of Psychology; Paradigms and Theories; People and History; Publications and Documents; and Underlying Reductionistic Machinery. The site also hosts the Society for the Quantitative Analyses of Behavior and the Theory Into Practice Database (TIP) that contains brief summaries of 50 major theories of learning and instruction.

• Xipolis--German Reference Database
  This database consists of 18 standard reference tools--encyclopedias and dictionaries--in the German language. It includes such titles as the Brockhaus Enzyklopaedia.
• Credo Reference
  More than 100 searchable and browsable full-text reference books comprise this database. It includes some encyclopedias related to education, including Cambridge Encyclopedia of Child Development.
