The University of Chicago Library is not a depository for Illinois documents. However, the library has a collection of numerous Illinois government documents both in paper and electronic formats, historical and current. Reports and documents of states are generally classified as HA221-727; state hearings classified as J87 and state registers JK2701- which are housed in Regenstein Library. In general, all government documents, including Illinois documents, are catalogued according to the Library of Congress classification scheme and are housed in the respective libraries according to subject. The Law Library has its own classification scheme. All Illinois documents are listed in the Library's online catalog.
The D'Angelo Law Library has a web page for state documents as well.
The Center for Research Libraries (6050 S. Kenwood) maintains an extensive collection of U.S. State Documents. CRL has more than one-half million volumes of monographic and serial publications of the U.S. states' governments, including financial reports and research studies through 1950. They also maintain a collection of legislative journals through 1990.
