• The American Hospital Directory Provides on-line, comparative data for most hospitals. The database is built from Medicare claims data, cost reports, and other public use files obtained from the federal Health Care Financing Administration.
• Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations - Quality Check^TM The Joint Commission accredits nearly 18,000 health care organizations and programs. JCAHO new service, Quality check^TM, allows individuals to "check up" on the performance of their local health care facility, whether it's a hospital, a surgery center, a nursing home or another type of health care organization.
