This is a listing of the University of Chicago Library Middle East Department's holdings of manuscript copies on microfilm and microfiche. The entries are listed by author where available or by title where the author is not known. The number to the left of the entry is either the call number, for cataloged materials, or an accession number, for uncataloged items.

Please note that the manuscripts listed here are available for use only at the University of Chicago Library. Because of copyright restrictions they cannot be duplicated for sale or exchange.

There are now two ways to view the Manuscripts on Microformat list. The first is a Web-friendly version in which the entries have no diacritics. The list is divided into three alphabetical sections to make it more manageable. This version can be found through these links:

• Manuscripts N thorugh Z

The list is also now available as pdf files, which can be downloaded and viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free pdf-reading program. Again, the list is split into three sections, which have been uniformly paginated to make one long list after the files are printed out. This version can be found here:

Please note that the pdf version is slightly more up to date, but that the Web-friendly version can be more easily searched using any web browsing program.
