Dissertations
- ProQuest Dissertations and Theses: Includes citations for dissertations accepted at accredited universities from 1861 to the present. Those published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Abstracts for earlier dissertations are available in Dissertation Abstracts (Z5055.U49M6; Regenstein Reference). Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. The full text of dissertations since 1997 is available for free downloading. (UofC only)
- Foreign Doctoral Dissertations Database from the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago. CRL has more than 750,000 uncataloged foreign dissertations, of which approximately 20,000 are included in this database. CRL also maintains a list of universities from which it receives printed dissertations on exchange or deposit and the date when this began. Request items via University of Chicago Interlibrary Loan.
