Identifying UofC Library Electronic Journal Holdings
Search an Electronic Indexing/Abstracting Database with Links to Full-Text
Features are being added to most of the Library's databases that offer users ways to access the full-text of an article from the citation in an index. For instance, it is possible to link from a PsycInfo record for an article to the full-text of a journal that we subscribe to electronically with Ovid, or Cambridge University Press, or Elsevier. The Library is using SFX software that links records from indexing sources to the Library's catalog, the electronic full-text when available, and to other services. So if you want articles from online full-text journals, search one of the indexing databases and look for the SFX button or other links to full-text. More information is available about SFX and about locating journals and other library materials.
Search the Library Catalog
Records for the journal titles owned by the Library are included in the online catalog. The catalog does not contain records for journal articles. Journals are owned in a variety of formats: print, microform, and electronic. When electronic full-text is available the Library has been adding the link in the full catalog record. In some cases, only the electronic version is owned.
Browse Titles of Electronic Journals, A to Z
This is a listing of thousands of titles of electronic journals to which the UofC community has access. The list indicates the source through which the Library acquires access and, when possible, the dates of full-text availability. Note that some titles have multiple entries because they are available from several services.
E-Journal Packages & Services: Selected Library Subscriptions
PLEASE NOTE: The availability of full-text for journals
for which we have no print subscription varies tremendously from one publisher/vendor
to another. Also some services do not have the most recent issues of certain
titles because of publisher-imposed embargo periods. The dates of full-text
availability for specific titles is best determined through the Library's SFX
database used to create the list of Electronic
Journals AtoZ by title.
PsycArticles
via Journals@Ovid Full Text
The American Psychological Association (APA) is the producer of this database
and the Library has access via Journals@Ovid. Ovid is also the Library's vendor
for PsycInfo and the records in this database include links to the full-text
of articles when available. More information about
PsycArticles.
