The University of Chicago Library has acquired a collection of 27 films produced by the Prabhat Film Company betweeen 1932 and 1949. The Company established its own studio in Pune, India in 1933 and produced a total of 45 films in both Marathi and Hindi. The films acquired by the University of Chicago include films in both languages on VCD and DVD. Films on DVD have english subtitles. A full list of the films is available through our online catalog.
