- Eighteenth Century Journals Section II
British and Irish journals and newspapers dating from 1699 to 1812.
- Internet Library of Early Journals
Runs of at least 20 consecutive years of three 18th-century British journals and three 19th-century British journals.

Indexes a wide range of U.S. and British periodical literature, drawing upon the following indexes and others. Searching in C19 may produce different results than searching each database separately. Different search options are available, and in some cases the coverage is different as well.
- American Periodicals Series Online
(About APS)
Contains over 1,100 periodicals that first began publishing between 1740 and 1900, including special interest and general magazines, literary and professional journals, children's and women's magazines, and many other historically significant periodicals.
- British Periodicals Collection I

Contains over 160 periodicals published between the late 17th and early 20th centuries. Topics covered include literature, philosophy, history, science, the fine arts and the social sciences.

Indexes over 5,000 periodicals, both scholarly and general, from the first issue to its terminal date, or through the mid-1990's. Includes numerous foreign-language titles, and many older, long-ceased titles commencing as early as 1665. Topical indexing appears to be mainly from title words, or translations of words in the article titles. Periodicals Archive Online is the full-text subset of Periodicals Index Online.

- The Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals, 1824-1900

Identifies articles and the authors of articles within 45 major Victorian periodicals, covering the period from the beginning of the Westminster Review in 1824 to the end of the century. The exception to this is the Edinburgh Review, which is indexed from the first issue, in 1802. Also in print.

- Guide to Reference
The American Library Association's Guide to Reference is useful for selecting additional resources. Includes a section on Periodicals with entries for works like the following.
- Early Periodical Indexes
Comprehensive annotated bibliography of about 400 titles providing indexing to articles published before 1900. Most cited references are to subject bibliographies rather than traditional periodical indexes. Subject matter is completely multidisciplinary, covering the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, and the bibliography itself is arranged by classified subject. Includes four indexes: author, title, subject, and dates of coverage.
- Electronic Full Text Services (EFTS)
The Library's EFTS web pages group numerous humanities collections by language and other categories. Some include periodicals, for example Gallica (BnF) in the French section.
- Research Guides by Subject
