Author and Title Fields: At this time the following punctuation
marks and symbols
produce a "No documents found" message: parentheses (( )), ampersand
(&), single and double quotes, and
square brackets ([ ]) as well as the dollar sign. Square brackets are
most
problematic for this database.
At this time, ancient Greek characters display as SGML entities and cannot be searched. We are considering several models for handling Greek characters in general. This is required for our Encyclopédie implementation, so we have tabled this until we can arrive at a general solution. For an example, search the phrase: ???.
One can't search a #word (i.e. restricting to a capitalized word) with the Boolean operator OR. #dansard|#duprat only gives the count for the first term by itself. Using a single # mark with the OR operator capitalizes both search terms.
We haven't set up the mechanism for better implicit end of sentence determination. Consequently one cannot find Mme. Roland as a phrase or in proximity within the same sentence. We need to exclude Ste., Mme., etc. Ideally, we would like end of sentences tagged.
Mark says -- Note that I have not run short cites for KWICs, that I am missing publisher information, that I need to integrate the "TYPE" specification into the title because, for what ever reason, Bibliopolis puts additional title info, including VOLUME NUMBER!! there, and as usual results are NOT sorted by date. Also, please make sure that the database TITLE is correct on all forms and results.
Note to Mark -- the title of this beast is "...La Harpe à Proust", not "et Proust".
A few Sample Searches are available.
