Retrieving Documents and Limiting a
Search:
To retrieve a document, enter fou du Palais Royal in the Title
Field (leave the Search
Texts for: field blank). Click on the title to go to
the digital table of contents. To limit a search, leave fou du Palais Royal
in the Title Field and enter
despotisme in the Search Texts for: field.
Limiting a Search by Multiple
Fields:
To search only a decade of the works of Condorcet enter condorcet
in the Author Field and a date range in the Date Field:
1780-1790. Enter tromper in the Search Field.
Phrase Search:
Search phrase: puissance paternelle
Phrase with Boolean OR:
Search the following: sectes gnostiques|mystiques
Proximity Same Sentence or
Paragraph:
First search the phrase: dialectique hEgElienne
Now search the phrase again: dialectique hEgElienne in the Same
Sentence
Now do the same with Proximity - Same Paragraph. Make sure you have
the Concordance Report format turned on.
Wildcard Searching
For simple truncation, search tromp.* with KWIC Report
turned on.
Search for kalend[ae]r to find alternate spellings. These can also be found by entering
kalend.r. Try the following as well: amusant.? to find amusant and amusante. To
look only for proper nouns enter: #chauve
Wildcards for discovering textual emendations: Search
cons.*ment with Frequency by Title report clicked on.
Images
There are images throughout the database. To see one enter the phrase une mesme figure.
Notes
To see a linked note reference in text search the phrase elle peust guerir and click on page.
To see a page reference from note text search for the word: Aetiopique and click on [Note].
