IICLE SmartBooks

IICLE stands for Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education.  Known for decades for their informative, practiitoner-oriented handbooks on Illinois law, IICLE duplicated its content online a few years ago.  IICLE SmartBooks, located at https://www-iicle-com.proxy.uchicago.edu/SmartBooks/Default.aspx or from the D'Angelo Law Library webpage under Law Databases, has a digital version of each of the IICLE course textbooks and handbooks, in an easy-to-use, intuitive format.  Browse by title or search by keyword, limiting to the practice area that interests you.  The handbooks are displayed on a three-column screen.  The first chapter begins on the middle column; the left-hand column has an interactive Table of Contents and the right-hand column has links to forms associated with the chapter.  Each chapter can be downloaded in its entirety as a PDF file.  The content is concise and to the point, while containing citations to the statutes, regulations and important cases.  Take a look, and keep it in mind when researching Illinois law issues.
