Andrea Twiss-Brooks, Director, Humanities and Area Studies, is serving as Interim Director of Special Collections following the retirement of Daniel Meyer earlier this year. Andrea has previous experience with oversight of Special Collections, as well as many years of experience in the Library. In her interim role, she will provide administrative oversight for the work of the talented staff in the SCRC who manage the collections, provide services to students, instructors and researchers, produce exhibitions, and more. Andrea is happy to be contacted about Special Collections matters (email: or phone: 773-702-8777). The Library will undertake a search for a new director in the coming months, engaging with faculty, staff, and students in the process.

Kathleen Feeney, Head of Archives Processing and Digital Access, is filling the role of Interim Assistant University Archivist, a position vacated recently by Eileen Ielmini. Kathleen will be responsible for coordinating acquisitions of archival materials donated by faculty, managing rights and access for archival collections, and coordinating donor relations activities with Library Development related to archives.

Patrons are encouraged to continue to contact the Hanna Holborn Gray Special Collections Research Center with questions about collections or services via this email form.
