Library Services during Spring Interim and the opening of Spring Quarter

Most Winter Quarter Library services will continue during Spring Interim from March 21 to 28 and at the opening of Spring Quarter. Visit the Library Status Dashboard for information about current services.  Key changes in services for Spring Interim and the beginning of Spring Quarter are outlined below.

The Law School’s Spring Interim runs from March 15 to 28.  D’Angelo Law Library is closed to students during this period, as well as the first week of Spring Quarter when all classes will be remote.

From March 20 to 28, the SSA Library will continue to fill Scan & Deliver and paging requests but will be closed for study space seat reservations.

Paging & Pickup evening time slots pilot

In response to patron requests for book pickup times in the evenings and on weekends, the Library will be piloting additional time slots that patrons may reserve to pick up materials from the Library’s Paging & Pickup and Interlibrary Loan services. Starting the week of March 15, the Library will offer 30-minute time slots between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Patrons with materials available for pickup may reserve these time slots effective immediately.

If the initial phase of the pilot proves successful, it will be expanded in Spring Quarter to also include pickup time slots on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Book a Seat Interim and Spring Quarter hours

The Library will continue to offer Book a Seat reservations during the Interim, in order to serve students and other patrons who are remaining on campus, in accordance with the University’s recommendation to avoid travel during the week of March 21.

Book a Seat reservations will be suspended during the first week of Spring Quarter, when classes for the College and most academic units will be held remotely, in accordance with the University’s expectation that those who have traveled will need to stay at home. Book a Seat will resume on Monday, April 5, when in-person classes resume.
