Library staff are online: Kathy Zadrozny
Library Staff are Online is a new series providing a glimpse at the work University of Chicago Library staff are doing remotely.
Web Developer and Graphic Design Specialist
Where do you work normally?
Where are you working from now?
My living room.
What are you working on right now?
The web team is working on a project to update our digital collections so that they are easily searchable and browsable within our website. We're excited to rethink and update these collections as the library offers twenty years of digitized maps, photos, campus publications, and pre-modern manuscripts. I'm also working on updating our global navigation based on user study feedback to help patrons find borrowing and visiting information more easily. Additionally, I am improving the accessibility of our website browse and search views in order to maintain our site's ADA compliance.
Do you have any coworkers where you are working remotely? Partners, kids, pets, plants, etc.?
My husband and my cat, Sadie.
What activities or hobbies have you been engaged in when you aren't working remotely?
Biking, working on a container garden, watching birds at my window feeder, and playing video games (Witcher 3 and Stardew Valley).
What do you miss about being away from the Library buildings or University?
Walking around the campus to soak in nature and the Div School Wednesday Lunch series.
