Paging and Scan & Deliver from Crerar and Eckhart libraries

Beginning on June 29, our paging service will be expanded to include materials from Crerar and Eckhart libraries in addition to Regenstein and Mansueto. This service is for current UChicago faculty, other academic appointees, postdocs, students, and staff.  All paged material will be available for pick up by appointment in the outer lobby of Regenstein.

Patrons will be able to request items as needed through the Library Catalog, and the Library will fill up to five requests per patron per day. Our goal is to make materials available within three business days.

To enhance the safety of this process, items will be checked out to patrons by staff before pickup. Patrons will be required to wear masks, observe social distancing, and display their ID when picking up material at Regenstein Library.

During this initial phase of minimal on-site operations, patrons will not be allowed into any of the  libraries beyond the outer lobby of Regenstein..

Items available online through the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service will not be eligible for physical paging so that the Library can continue to provide online access.

Scan & Deliver

Beginning June 29, the Library’s Scan & Deliver service will expand to provide access to Crerar and Eckhart’s circulating collections, with a limit of five requests per patron per day.  Items available online through the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service are ineligible for Scan & Deliver.

Online Library services continue

The science librarians in Crerar and Eckhart continue to support teaching, research, and learning through a wide variety of online services from Ask a Librarian assistance and consultations to workshops and instruction to access to e-resources.
