The University of Chicago Library is marking the 10th anniversary of the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library this year, beginning with a virtual lecture featuring Philip Castillo, FAIA, Executive Vice President of JAHN, and Christine Mehring, Mary L. Block Professor of Art History and the College.

With its soaring elliptical glass dome capping a 180-seat Grand Reading Room, the Mansueto Library was designed by the late groundbreaking architect Helmut Jahn and is a triumph for the University and the city of Chicago. Mr. Castillo and Professor Mehring will explore the architecture of the Mansueto Library and its impact on the architectural landscape.
