Hisgtorical note

The Lake View Citizens' Council (LVCC) is a non-profit civic organization serving the Lakeview community on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1952, LVCC is a grassroots membership organization made up of a diverse group of neighbors. LVCC was established to provide citizens in Lake View with the opportunity to work together for the common good of the Lake View community.

Scope and Contents note

Correspondence, minutes, reports, financial records, newspaper clippings, and printed materials created or collected by the Lake View Citizens' Council, a neighborhood organization on the North Side of Chicago. Topics include the conservation and improvement of homes, apartment buildings, and business in the Lake View community of Chicago, building and zoning violations, home improvement contests sponsored by the council, programs for young people, juvenile delinquency, and problems of Southern white people who moved into the community.
