John David Mooney's Papal Gardens Sculptures
In 1994 John David Mooney created several sculptures in the Papal Gardens at Castel Gandolfo and at the Vatican Observatory, as part of the Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena conference. The publication The Vatican Observatory and the arts: the sculpture of John David Mooney at Castel Gandolfo is a catalogue of his work. A quote from page 15 states “John David Mooney, an Artist Explorer working on the intersection between art and science, sea and shore, daylight and starlight, past and future.”
