University of Chicago Press: A Century of Scholarly Publishing, 1891-1991

Exhibition curated by Penny Kaiserlian.

This exhibition, organized by the Library in conjunction with the University of Chicago Press, marks the Centennial of the University of Chicago Press by tracing its history from its beginnings as a small private corporation to its current status as America's largest university press. The exhibition was written by Penny Kaiserlian, who drew on Catherine Seybold's history of the Press through 1965. A reprint, "Trials of an Editor," by Gordon J. Laing, was issued by the Press in conjunction with the exhibition.
