Dan Grzeca, is an artist, painter, and printmaker in Chicago. Grzeca, pronounced "Jet-sah", has been making hand screen-printed posters and prints for the last 10 years. A graduate of Willowbrook High School in Villa, Illinois, Grzeca received a B.F.A. in drawing from Northern Illinois University (1990).
Grzeca creates poster advertisements for the Chicago improvised music scene and has made posters for bands such as the Melvins, Vandermark 5, Peter Brotzmann, and the Black Keys. As a personal friend of Ken Vandermark, a highly reputed Chicago-based improvisation and jazz musician, Grzeca is often commissioned to create show posters and compact disc covers for Vandermark’s various musical undertakings.
Grzeca’s studio and shop, Ground Up, is located in Chicago.
The Dan Grzeca Collection contains posters, programs, print works, and a compact disc designed by Grzeca for various concerts and venues, mostly located in Chicago.
