Scope Note

One of the seven or eight known copies of Roger of Waltham's (d. 1336) unpublished treatise on the rights and duties of princes, bound with the "Constitutions" of George Neville, Archbishop of York (ca. 1432 – 1476), from its synod held 1466. The codex also includes the "Constitutions" of an earlier synod held under John Kemp (ca. 1380-1454). Roger of Waltham's text is illuminated, rubricated, and decorated with gold, red, blue, and green ink.

Bound in 19th century English calfskin.

Text in Latin.
