Scope Note

This collection contains an undated typescript copy of Education and the Cultural Process, edited by Charles S. Johnson with an introduction. The essays were presented at the symposium (April 29 to May 4, 1941) commemorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of Fisk University, a historically black university in Nashville, Tennessee. They were later published as a special issue of the American Journal of Sociology (Vol. 48, No. 6, May 1943).
