Scope Note

Sha'arim, a series of 40 provisions regarding meats, with special reference to weights and measures. There are also forty-five rules regarding governance of conjugal relations, and a tract on slaughtering. The codex includes minor illumination, rubrication, and marginalia; however many leaves are defective. The first part of this codex is titled "Shaare Dura" by Isaac ben Meir, of Duren (active in the 13th century). The second part focuses on family purity, and the third part is about ritual slaughter, but the exact titles of those sections are unknown.

Bound in 19th century pigskin.
