The work of Evan Taylor Sage in this collection was completed in 1936, shortly before he died. According to his widow, Miriam S. Foote, the manuscript was to have been published by the American Philological Society, but the publication was not carried out.
Sage received his PhD from the University of Chicago.
The manuscript consists of 633 typewritten pages in good condition. The inventory adheres to the order in which the manuscript was found and is divided into three series. Series I: Description of the Manuscripts, Series II: History of the Text and Series III: Collation.
