Biographical Note

Friedrich Vater, (1810-1866), son of Johann Severin Vater. Professor of Classical Literature and Philology at the University of Kazan, Russia.

This collection consists of notes and manuscripts, presumably in Vater’s hand, in Greek, Latin, and German on classical philology. Also includes notes by one of Vater’s students, Isaac Popoff. Also identified as MS97.
