Sample used in this study augmented by women's texts from two commercial collaborators: Editions Champion and Editions Bibliopolis.

Both are large modern collections, surprisingly lacking in texts by women authors.

Some publishers are producing collections of texts by women. Alexander Street Press features Letters and Diaries by North American, British and Irish, and other women. Other publishers in English seem to have only limited holdings by women writers.

Support for women writers projects -- Brown Women Writers, Victorian Women Writers or Early Modern French Women Writers to name only three -- is vital as this is an area that many commercial vendors seem to be missing.
