Chadwyck-Healey Editorial Statement: Literary Theory constitutes a fully searchable library that features all the major texts in the tradition of writing about literature, its rules, genres, interpretation, and scholarship. Literary Theory creates a comprehensive collection of works of literary theory and criticism, dating back more than 2,000 years. Over 1,000 texts by 330 authors are included. The database includes all major authors from Aristotle and Dryden to James and Derrida. All the significant works in the historical tradition are represented, while the proliferation of theoretical schools and trends of the 20th century is reflected by a wide range of landmark essays, articles, and extracts. The collection has been adapted to meet the study needs of undergraduates with the provision of subject classification for each text along with a glossary of terms and concepts drawn from The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Literary Terms (1990).
