Platzman fellowships awarded for 2020
The University of Chicago Library is pleased to announce the recipients of Robert L. Platzman Memorial Fellowships for 2020. Awards are being made this year to sixteen scholars who will visit the Library and consult collections, primarily rare books, manuscripts, and archives in the Special Collections Research Center.
Janet D. Rowley papers open for research
Dr. Janet Davison Rowley (1925-2013) was the "matriarch of modern cancer genetics." Rowley's discovery of chromosomal translocations in leukemia patients led to breakthroughs in scientific understanding of cancer and the development of targeted therapies.
