Information for Visiting Groups

The Hanna Holborn Gray Special Collections Research Center is open to the public and does not require University affiliation to consult our materials. If you are planning to bring a group to visit, either to view materials or to visit an exhibition, we are happy to work with you in planning your visit.

University of Chicago Faculty

If you are interested in bringing your class to visit Special Collections, please see our web page with information about teaching.

Non-University of Chicago Instructors

If you are teaching a university-level class, please see our teaching page.

If you are teaching elementary, middle school, or high school students, please visit our schools page for more information.

Community Groups

We also receive requests from groups from the larger community. If you are interested in bringing a group to visit, please complete our Ask a Librarian form. In the request, please let us know the size of your group, the planned date and time of visit, and the topic of interest. We request at least two weeks advance notice; due to the volume of requests we receive, we cannot guarantee we can accommodate a group visit. Our first priority is to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Chicago.
